Andrea Healy named “Local Covid Pandemic Hero” by Central Mass South Chamber of Commerce

Andrea Healy

Although we are sick of hearing it, these are unprecedented times. Many struggled day to day to keep their spirits up, while watching the COVID numbers rise and our favorite places close. Fear of the unknown took a toll on too many of us. However, behind the scenes at North Brookfield Savings Bank, Andrea Healy worked hard to make this a seamless transition for our staff and customers alike. We may have closed lobbies, but we never once shut our doors for good. Andrea worked tirelessly day and night, responding to the regulatory changes, and acting as a front runner in the race to stay afloat amid this awful virus.

Andrea and her team worked quickly to implement new changes, what seemed like daily. Whether it was rotating our staff to minimize contact with one-another, lessening the in-branch staff by increasing remote work for those able, keeping clear and open communication about PPE supplies needed or customer concerns and offering mental and physical wellbeing webinars and resources, to name just a few.

Andrea found it to be as crucial to take care of us emotionally, as much as physically. Sure, she did everything in her power to keep the customers and staff safe from the virus, but she never forgot to focus on the needs of a mentally healthy staff, continually checking in and having an “Open Door Policy” even in a now-virtual world. Even with over 60 employees in 8 locations Andrea was only a phone call away for ANY of us, ANY time.

All while working diligently to preserve the physical and mental health of our employees, Andrea was working with senior staff into late evening hours to come up with solutions for our customers. Many of our customers had never used Online Banking, or even a drive up before! Andrea guided our frontline staff, and we did not miss a beat in offering out-of-the-box solutions such as scheduled appointments, curbside banking and doing almost all our normal duties including loan closings, opening new accounts and notaries, contactless through our drive up.

So today we would like to give a special thanks to Andrea Healy and all the work she did to keep North Brookfield Savings Bank a well-oiled machine, and offering compassion for our staff, especially in these uncertain times.  We owe our success and some of our sanity to Andrea for being our Pandemic Hero!
